“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” - Hippocrates
Our homemade beauty recipes can easily be made by following our simple instructions. Using everyday ingredient from your kitchens you will be able to pamper yourself in no time at all. Best of all it will cost you a fraction of what you would normally pay for commercial beauty preparations or a trip to the beauty salon. And in the end you will get the same, or even a better result!
Best of all, each and every recipe here uses totally natural ingredients with no harsh chemicals and additives. The creams and ointments are perfect for all types of skin, as well as those with sensitive skin.
The down side of not using any preservatives in your homemade beauty products can result in them having a very short shelf life, therefore don't make more than you can use within a short time frame - usually no more than 3-6 months for many of the creams and lotions here.
Many of these beauty recipes take very little time to make and are well worth the effort. There is no special equipment needed in making these, although you may want to source yourself some darkened glass storage jars which are made especially to protect your creams, lotions and ointments from harsh light that can weaken the efficacy of the product over time.
Always replace the lid tightly on your products to prevent any essential oils evaporating over time, and try and store them in a dark cupboard until you need them.
Don't forget to always label and date your recipes once you have made them, especially if you are storing them in the fridge as you don't want hubby or the kids thinking it is food!
